Capturing a Lower-Resolution Image Than The Actual Resolution (Do Not Resize Set in Preferences)

Pages: 1

- Fireshot v.0.98.65
- Windows 8.1
- Firefox 35.0.1
- Steps: (Start browser, go to desired page, choose any of the capture options, save, edit or copy) - the image comes out at a slighty lower resolution/size than the actual screen - I'd say maybe 75-80% lower)
- Webpage URL: every page ( a wide variety were tried)

Note: I am using a laptop with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. I tested the issue on Google Chrome & it was fine so this must be a Firefox issue. My computer's native print screen function also works fine.

Lastly, I do have my preferences set to "do not resize" so that is not the problem. Hope you can help as the capturing is not desirable if it's not the actual size. Thank you!

Hello,

Thanks for reporting, can you please check your DPI settings? Is it set to 100% or higher? I suspect, according to your screen resolution, the high-DPI option is switched ON. On Firefox, this leads to the smaller sizes of captured images.

Hi JK, thanks for responding. Yes, it's set to the standard medium (125%) setting. When I changed it to 100%, everything became very small, but Fireshot did indeed work. Is there any way to bypass this in Firefox so Fireshot can function properly while at the computer's standard dpi? Chrome must somehow ignore this since the Chrome add-on works fine. Thanks!

This is how Firefox returns bitmap to FireShot. I'll search for the way how to tell Firefox to return the adequate size of the capture.

Thank you man. I'd really appreciate it. Having a high DPI is a blessing & a curse.

Implemented in FireShot Pro 98.67 (https://getfireshot.com/fireshot-install.exe)
