The PrtScrn key cannot be defined as a Hotkey. This is always the preferred key for this use, it should really be allowed for the Hotkeys!

This is a bug. This key should be assigned.

OS is Windows 7 / 64 Bit
All other functionality (except for Multi Monitor) works. The textbox showing the shortcut simply does not react on PrtScr, no matter with or without modifiers. Stephan |

Maybe I should mention that the OS is the german version: Win 7 / 64 Bit / German
It strikes that the modifier names are written in german language in the text boxes: Do you maybe expect english names here? Stephan BTW: The direct ImageShack integration is the coolest thing ever. |

And there is another observation:
When using any assigned shortcut, SSS crashes instantly. Stephan |

Thanks.
My problem is that I cannot re-create any bug currently. I'll install Win 7 / German and make some tests. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

What happens if you:
1. Update to the latest Screenshot Studio version (1.9.83): https://screenshot-program.com/screenshot_studio_setup.zip 2. Locate "ss_settings.ini" file and manually edit it by setting the following values (make sure Screenshot Studio is not launched): hotCreateSS=44 hotContinueEditing=16452 hotCaptureTopWindow=8236 hotSilentCapture=16428 ? __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

I tried on the Win7/64 system.
1) Stopped Maxivista to make sure only physical displays exist. 2) Installed and rechecked version (1.9.83) 3) Checked the ini settings you mentioned. All of them were already set. Didn't need to change anything. 4) In options window, still no modifiers were diplayed by default: 5) I tried to enter Prtscrn with and without different modifiers in the misc textboxes. But it's still not possible to use Prtscrn in any way here. 6) Outside the application I tried pressing Prtscrn anyway (thinking that you might have put one hotkey into the ini, which is just not visible in the options dialog). At first nothing happened. But after a few minutes (!) the SSS main window pops up with a randomly sized rectangular screenshot: But it takes really long until this happens, multiple minutes. I was already writing this text, when it popped up. I was not asked to define the size of the rectangle, I don't know how it was defined, there was no window of this size on the screen. Earlier I used Prtscrn with and wihout different modifiers (Alt, Ctrl, Shift). Cannot say yet which one triggered SSS. Does this make any sense to you? Stephan |

Just thought: can it be another software utilizing this Key at your PC ?
P.S. And this is strange: you say, the settings are already set. But I can't see it in the options ("Keine" everywhere)... __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Just thought: can it be another software utilizing this Key at your PC ? I was in doubt about the snipping tool included with Win7. But for testing I installed Screenpresso and it receives PrtScr as expected. (did not have Screenpresso installed during the earlier tests) I currently don't think that any other app listens to PrtScr. Quote:

What should be displayed in the form, when the ini file contains the above values? Is it possible that there is an access rights problem? When I start SSS as admin, then at least some fields are filled with values. Prtscr however still does not work. But this has been tested with the 1.9.84beta, so different behaviour might be also be caused here. Stephan |
